One of the compelling reasons that a homebuyer chooses a location has to do with how many community events and interaction there is with the community as a group including plans for community areas. In the City of Brookhaven, according to an article in the Dunwoody Crier, the Brookhaven City Council has unanimously adopted the master plan for the Peachtree Creek Greenway calling it an historic occasion to launch one of the most ambitious and far-reaching projects in the metro area.
The vision for the plan includes a multi-purpose linear park stretching 2.7 miles along the North Fork of Peachtree Creek, with nature trails, paved trails, a paved promenade near a revitalized Buford Highway corridor, dotted with residences, offices, restaurants, bike rental stands, coffee shops and picnic areas. The plan has a goal to eventually tie into the PATH400 and connect to the Beltline trail, part of a 12.3 mile stretch from Mercer University to Buckhead.
